May 2012 Meeting

Each of us faces hard times, but will these times of testing cause us to become bitter or better?  We were encouraged to become better as a result of our circumstances not bitter.  We were reminded of Job who was greatly blessed but lost everything he had in one day.  Next he lost his health.  Job was not alone in his losses.  Job's wife shared in his losses.  She, too, lost her children and possessions.  Then she watched the health of the man she had married quickly deteriorate.  During this time of testing, she allowed bitterness to fill her heart.  As a result, she told Job to "curse God, and die" (Job 2:9), but Job declared, "For I know that my redeemer liveth..." (Job 19:25).  Job's wife had become bitter because of the suffering, but Job had become better in spite of his suffering.  Job kept his trust in God.  As you are faced with circumstances in your cancer journey that bring you and your family suffering, remember, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding" (Proverbs 3:5).  God never promised life would be easy, but He did promise He would stay with you through your life's journey.  "For He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee" (Hebrews 13:5).  We encourage you to join us on Tuesday,  June 15, 2012, at 7:00 P.M. for our next Oasis of Hope Christian Cancer Support Group meeting. We will be sharing more words of encouragement and praying for the needs of those who attend.  May God bless you with the nearness of His presence as you keep your trust in Him.
