As we look at the way a baby uses his hands, he is totally dependent on hands stronger than his.  We too, as we travel along our cancer journey become vulnerable and dependent on hands much stronger than ours. As a child of God, we can depend on the hand of our Father to hold us up.
Three points to remember about the hand of our Heavenly Father.  First, God meets us at our point of need, so we can always depend on His hand to save us.  "Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save..." (Isaiah 59:1). Second, since God is greater than all other powers, rulers, or forces, we can trust His hand to keep us secure.  "My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand" (John 10:29).  Third, since God is merciful and loving, we can trust His hand to help us.  "For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee" (Isaiah 41:13).  We can ask God today, "Lord, let me hold to your hand."
This cancer journey is full of uncertainties, but one thing is for certain - the love of God to keep us safe in His hand.  Afraid?  So was David.  In Psalm 56:3, he says, "What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee."  We encourage you to put your trust in our Heavenly Father's hand.  He will take care of you.
Join us for our next meeting of the Oasis of Hope Christian Cancer Support Group on February 18, 2014, at 7:00 P.M.  We will share more words of hope and keep you in our prayers.
