August 2016 Meeting from Oasis of Hope CCSG

Why do the storms have to be so hard?  Can’t you just hear Jesus ask, “Where is your faith?”  When we are going through a storm, we just need to trust in the anchor of our soul, Jesus.

“That by two immutable things in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before;

Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec” (Hebrews 6:18-20).

If we are like a ship, we need an anchor.  An anchor needs a cable to hold it to the ship.  This is our faith in Jesus.  Next, an anchor needs solid ground to become secure.  Jesus is the solid rock.  All else is sinking sand.

Storms are an opportunity to go to Jesus more and to draw closer to the Lord.

The storms may rage and the winds may blow, but Jesus is the anchor who will get us safely through our storms.  We can rely on Jesus because he is the one who is powerful enough to calm our storms and the one gracious  enough to give us peace.  Remember, Jesus will see us through, for Jesus is the steadfast anchor of our souls.

Next month the Oasis of Hope Christian Cancer Support Group Meeting will meet on the fourth Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at 7:00 P.M. at Bethany Assembly of God.  We welcome you to join us for words of encouragement and prayer if you or your loved one is facing the cancer journey.
