2014 April Message from Oasis of Hope CCSG

Sometimes when we are going through dark moments along our cancer journey, we may feel as if we have been abandoned, but take courage, God’s Word says, “that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28)

It is easy to get discouraged when things are going bad. But we shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of pain and suffering.   For all the negative things we have to say to ourselves, God has a positive answer for it in His word.

As we stop to ponder who God is and how great God is and how much our great, big God loves each of us, we can have hope even in the midst of our current circumstances.   God tells us that He is with us. God says that He is not a man that He should lie, “For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us” (2 Cor. 1:20).

In Hebrews 6:18-19 we read, “that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.   This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil.”

So as we put our trust in a God who cannot lie to us, we can trust the promises of His Word.  May our prayer be, "Lord, help me not to dwell on the problems, rather, may I focus on Your promises."

Please join us for our next Oasis of Hope Christian Cancer Support Group meeting on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at 7:00 P.M. for more words of hope.  We look forward to you joining us!
