April 2012 Meeting

Hearing the words, "You have cancer," may cause you to feel as if you have been thrust in the eye of a storm.  As you look at the whirlwind of tests and treatments, you may long for a peaceful haven.  "Will the storm ever end?" you may ask.  If you keep your focus on the next test, the next treatment, and the next appointment, your emotions and spirit will become weary and downcast in the midst of this storm.  If you continue to dwell on the negative, you will get sucked into a never-ending cyclone.  Instead, try finding positive things for which you can give thanks in the midst of your situation, even if it is something as simple as giving thanks for getting three green lights in a row.   If you look for the positive, you will find a rainbow in the midst of your storm.  Looking for the positive doesn't take away the storm of cancer, but being grateful for even little things can brighten your world with a beautiful glow.   "In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you" (I Thessalonians 5:18).  Join us Tuesday,  May 15, 2012, at 7:00 P.M. for our next Oasis of Hope Christian Cancer Support Group meeting for more encouraging words.  We look forward to having you join us.
