2016 June Meeting from Oasis of Hope CCSG

Sometimes when we are going through difficult circumstances, we may ask is, “Where is Jesus?”  Let’s think about where was Jesus during some important times recorded in the Bible.

Where was Jesus when Jairus, ruler of the synagogue, asked Jesus to heal his dying daughter?  “Jesus went with him…”  Mark 5:24.  Jesus was right in the middle of this situation with Jairus and was answering his plea for help.  Where was Jesus when Jairus’ daughter died before they reached her?  “…[Jesus] took the damsel by the hand” and then spoke with power and authority, “…Damsel, I say unto thee, arise” Mark 5:41.  Jesus was right in the middle of the room ministering in his power and authority to restore life and healing to the ruler’s daughter.

Where was Jesus when two thieves hung on a cross paying the penalty for their crime?  When the one thief asked Jesus to remember him when he came into his kingdom, Jesus responded, “…today shalt thou be with me in paradise” Luke 23:43.  Jesus was right in the middle of this situation bringing hope of eternal life to the one who would believe on him.

Where was Jesus when Mary Magdalene stood weeping at the empty tomb?  “…She turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing...” John 20:14.  Jesus appeared right in the middle of her weeping.  His appearance in the middle of her mourning brought her comfort and hope.

Where is Jesus during your difficult cancer journey? Right in the middle bringing you comfort and hope.  Are you looking for him in the midst of your challenging circumstance?  The next time you feel all alone in the midst of your cancer journey, remember the words of his eternal promise,  “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee” Hebrews 13:5.

Next month the Oasis of Hope Christian Cancer Support Group Meeting will meet on the fourth Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at 7:00 P.M. at Bethany Assembly of God.  We welcome you to join us for words of encouragement and prayer if you or your loved one is facing the cancer journey.
