In the midst of our cancer journey, it’s like a fog.  We need God’s light. First, we can turn on the light by trusting God today.  “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6).  God does not always remove us from a painful situation, but He will always see us through every situation.

Second, believe God made the day, knows all about the day, controls the day, and is faithful throughout the day.  Even though we have a tendency to want to know what lies far ahead, God’s light shines where we are.  “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a lamp unto my path” (Psalm 119:105).  Many things seem to be overwhelming during our cancer journey, but God gives us enough grace for each new day. Don’t constantly try to look ahead.  Stay with the day.

Third, the light will tend to be reflected on things that have been provided.  Look for the blessings of each day.  By trusting God and focusing on our blessings, we can rejoice in the Lord.  “This is the day that the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24).

In the middle of a battle, we do not need worriers.  We need warriors.  Surround yourself with positive people who can encourage you as you travel through your cancer journey.  Remember, the oncologist may say that you have cancer, but God has the final say.  Won’t you trust Him today?

We welcome you to join us for us for more words of encouragement during our next meeting of Oasis of Hope Christian Cancer Support Group, Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at 7:00 P.M.  We hope to see you soon!
